As President and Founder of Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, Jim Coleman is an independent Financial Advisor with more than 39 years of experience helping successful individuals, families, and business owners navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence. Throughout his career, he has been committed to delivering highly personalized advice, taking the time to thoroughly understand each client's individual financial circumstances, goals, risk tolerance, and long-term priorities before developing thoughtful, customized strategies.

Recognized for his expertise in retirement income distribution planning, Jim developed the firm's Reliability of Income Model - a disciplined approach designed to help clients create sustainable retirement income while seeking to protect principal, help improve long-term portfolio outcomes, and enhance tax efficiency. Jim’s planning philosophy is rooted in providing clients with confidence that their financial strategy can adapt to changing markets and life's evolving circumstances.

Jim's leadership and innovative planning strategies have earned both regional and national recognition within the financial services industry. As a respected educator and speaker, he has been invited to share his expertise with financial professionals across the country. He is also the author of Educated Investing: Your Guide to Surviving and Thriving in the Fast-Paced Global Markets of the 21st Century, a guide focused on retirement planning and investing in dynamic markets.

Beyond his work with clients, Jim has dedicated much of his career to financial education. He hosted All About Money, a weekly financial talk show on WATR Radio in Connecticut, contributed financial columns to the Prospect Pages and other national publications, and served as a finance lecturer for the University of Connecticut's OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) program.

Passionate about advancing professionalism and ethical standards within the financial planning profession, Jim is a member of the Financial Planning Association and serves as President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Financial Awareness.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University with a double major in Finance and Marketing. He holds Series 7, 24, 66, and 99 securities registrations through LPL Financial, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses.

Outside the office, Jim is a devoted husband, father of five, and grandfather of three. His commitment to family, community, and service reflects the same values that have guided his professional career for nearly four decades, helping others build lasting financial confidence while making a meaningful impact on future generations.

Zach Verdi

Vice President & Financial Advisor

As Vice President and Financial Advisor at Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, Zach Verdi works closely with individuals and families to develop comprehensive, personalized financial strategies designed to align with their long-term goals. Zach is dedicated to providing clients with uncompromising attention to detail as he reviews their current and future financial situation, risk tolerance and personal priorities. Zach takes a thoughtful and disciplined approach to planning, helping clients navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence every step of the way.

Zach serves as the Head of two specialty divisions at Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, leading the Athlete Wealth Advisory Division and co-leading the Physician Wealth Advisory Division. As Head of the Athlete Wealth Advisory Division, Zach works to guide professional and collegiate athletes through life after athletics, helping them turn peak earning years into long lasting financial strength. As a former Division 1 athlete himself, Zach brings a competitive edge, strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset to this role.  As Co-Head of the Physician Wealth Advisory Division, Zach works with physicians and surgeons whose financial lives often involve complex tax planning, elevated liability considerations, significant earning potential, and demanding professional commitments. He helps clients navigate these complexities through comprehensive wealth management strategies tailored to their unique financial circumstances.

Prior to joining the firm, Zach spent five years at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Johnson & Johnson, where he served as the lead consultant for New York City’s largest hospital systems, including New York-Presbyterian Columbia, New York-Presbyterian Cornell, The Mount Sinai Health System, and NYU Langone Health. He managed relationships with both surgeons and corporate executives, working alongside them in both the operating room and the boardroom to optimize hospital expenditures and advance surgical techniques.

Zach earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College. Zach holds his Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial, along with his Life and Health Insurance license.

Zach is both family and community-oriented and prioritizes spending his free time with his wife and twin children. He also values giving back to his community, regularly participating in local charity events, the Chamber of Commerce, the Special Olympics, and initiatives that strengthen connections and make a positive impact.

Hannah Verdi

Vice President & Director of Business Development and Operations

As Vice President and Director of Business Development & Operations at Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, Hannah plays an integral role in the firm’s planning process, partnering closely with advisors to develop thoughtful, customized strategies for each individual client. With a strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, Hannah helps drive a more informed decision-making process across the firm. 

Furthermore, Hannah oversees the firm’s business development and operational initiatives, leading efforts to strengthen client service, deepen relationships, build strategic partnerships, and support the firm’s continued growth. Her unique blend of technical expertise and strategic vision makes her a key contributor to both client success and the firm’s evolution.

Prior to joining the firm, Hannah worked as a key member of the Investor Relations and Business Development team at a private equity firm based in New York, NY. Prior to that, Hannah worked as a Senior Consultant at FactSet where she managed the firms New York City relationships with investment banks, sell-side research firms, and private equity firms. 

Hannah earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a double minor in Economics and Digital Analytics from the University of Connecticut, School of Business. Hannah holds her Series 7, 63 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial, along with her Life and Health Insurance license. 

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys life as a proud twin mom and loves exploring new coffee shops, always on the hunt for her next favorite spot.

Thomas LaPointe

Vice President & Senior Client Service Associate

Tom LaPointe is Vice President/Senior Client Services Associate of Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC and a senior member of the firm’s Wealth Services Administrative Team. He works closely with our advisors who assist clients throughout the financial planning process, helping to develop detailed, personalized strategies tailored to each client’s goals.

In his role, Tom gathers and analyzes client data, transforming complex financial information into clear, actionable insights assisting our advisors. With over 25 years of industry experience, including 20 years as a financial advisor, he brings a practical, client-focused perspective to the planning process. He also supports investment and product research and participates in all trading and asset movements within the office.

Tom views wealth as a tool to help clients live with confidence and care for the people who matter most. His approach prioritizes clarity, thoughtful planning, and steady, informed decision-making.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration from Sacred Heart University. He holds his Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial, as well as his Life and Health Insurance license.  

Outside of work, Tom enjoys coaching ice hockey, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Julie Young FPQP®

Office Manager & Client Service Associate

As Office Manager & Client Services Associate at Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, Julie plays a central role in the day-to-day operations of the firm and the overall client experience. Julie has been with the firm for over 12 years and is responsible for maintaining an organized, efficient office environment, helping ensure every client interaction is handled with care and attention to detail. Julie works closely with both advisors and clients to support account needs, coordinate communications, and help facilitate a seamless planning process. Julie has a strong ability to anticipate needs, manage multiple priorities, and deliver thoughtful service, making her a valued resource for both clients and the team. 

Julie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources from Post University. Julie holds her FPQP, Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional, designation. 

Holly Calandra

Client Service Associate

As a member of the Client Services team at Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, Holly Calandra supports the advisory team in delivering a high level of service and care to our clients. With over 28 years of client service experience in the industry, Holly has the ability to anticipate client needs and manage complex administrative processes with confidence. Holly is responsible for account openings and ongoing maintenance, client onboarding and communication, paperwork processing, and meeting coordination. If you call the office, she is likely the first friendly voice you will hear on the other line. 

Lynn Coleman

Human Resources Coordinator

As the Human Resources Coordinator at Coleman Financial Advisory Group LLC, Lynn Coleman manages employee onboarding and HR administration, payroll, and bookkeeping. Lynn plays an essential role in keeping day-to-day business operations running smoothly as she works behind the scenes to support both our team and the success of the firm. Her dedication to creating an organized workplace allows our advisors and staff to stay focused on what matters most – serving our clients. 

Vincent Schrump CFP

CFO

Vincent Schrump is a CFO Strategist based in Fort Mill, SC, partnering with advisors to deliver financial analysis, strategic planning, and valuation‑driven insights. He joined LPL in 2021 and has since supported more than 100 advisor relationships, helping enhance the CFO Solutions onboarding process and financial modeling framework. With over a decade of experience across insurance, wealth management, and finance, Vincent holds a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC Charlotte, Series 7 and 63 registrations through LPL Financial, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®. He is a graduate of the McKinsey & Co. Leader Academy and an MBA candidate at East Carolina University. Originally from South Florida and now residing in Mooresville, NC, Vincent is an active member of the Financial Planning Association®, a dedicated weightlifter, jogger, and enjoys the outdoors.
